Police plan saturated patrols for Super Bowl
Police officers will be conducting saturated patrols to concentrate on impaired drivers during Super Bowl weekend Feb. 1-3. The saturated patrols will be conducted inside McMinnville city limits.
‘People think about buying chips and dip and heading to a Super Bowl party,’ said McMinnville Police Sgt. Mark Mara. ‘But they don’t necessarily think about a designated driver. An enjoyable party takes proper planning so don’t forget the designated driver when heading out to your Super Bowl party.’
By announcing the saturated patrols well in advance, police officers hope to deter impaired drivers from getting behind the wheel in the first place. Police officials say this decreases the potential for motor vehicle accidents.
Officers involved in the saturated patrols will be actively patrolling the streets for impaired drivers.
