Feet walk off with win over Lady Broncos
Tuesday night at Webb, the Boyd Christian Lady Broncos high school basketball team fell to the Lady Feet 45-37 in non-district action.
The Lady Broncos had a solid first quarter out scoring Webb 16-10. But Boyd ran into trouble in the second period as turnovers helped the Lady Feet to out-score the Lady Broncos 13-4 to take a 23-20 lead at the break.
Third-period action saw the two teams exchange baskets. Boyd put eight points on the board, while Webb countered with eight of its own. The Lady Broncos were unable to chip away at the lead as they still trailed by three at the end of the period.
The Lady Broncos came out in the final period and worked hard on both ends of the floor, but had only nine points for their efforts. Webb continued to control the tempo of the game and worked the ball in the paint for 14 points to secure the victory over the Lady Broncos.
For Boyd, Virginia Prater led with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Cassie Wanamaker had 10, Katie Sain added six points and seven boards. Emily Newby hit for four points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
The Lady Broncos will travel to Cascade tonight for a district game against the Lady Champions.
