Charles Alvin Warren, 88
A member of Woodbury Road Baptist Church, he had been a minister of music at many churches including Shellsford Baptist Church and Campaign Missionary Baptist Church, both in Warren County, along with New Prospect Baptist in Iuka, Miss. He was also a Sunday School teacher who worked with youth.
The son of the late Joseph and Armanda Beaty Warren, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gwin Pennington Holt Warren; five siblings and special friend, Tate Presley of Iuka.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Gail Warren of White Plains, Ky., Chuck (Butch) and Barbara Holt Warren of Woodbury; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bob Grammer of Iuka, Anita and Bobby Adams of Mt. Juliet; brother, James Warren of Ider, Ala.; sisters, Presh Honea and Eliza Harris of Ider; grandchildren, Renita and Adam Jacobs, Rebecca Warren, Jason and Tish Holt, Stan Mefford, Adam Mefford, Gwen Cagle and Gene Lawrence, Andrew and Kathy Adams and Joshua Adams; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shellsford Baptist Church with Rev. David Pennington and Rev. Terry Carver officiating. Burial will follow at Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Bond Funeral Home in Mt. Juliet, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
