Parks and Recreation ready for its egg hunt
Put on some bright-colored clothes, good running shoes and grab a basket because it?s egg hunting time at McMinnville Civic Center.
The Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up for its annual Easter EGGstravaganza this Saturday, April 7. Activities programmer Jen Barnes has been working overtime to get ready.
?We try and make every year bigger and better than the year before,? said Barnes. ?This year will be no exception. I think the kids will really enjoy it.?
This year, the Easter Bunny will have to take a little extra time as he will be asked to hide 5,000 eggs throughout the day. The egg-citement will begin at 1 p.m. for ages 6-9 and 3 p.m. for ages 2-5 at the Jungle Jym playground and City Field.
Pre-registration is $4 and registration on the day of the event is $5. Prizes include a free Jungle Jym party, portable CD players, toys, free ice cream coupons, cameras, Civic Center passes, hand-held video games, Hot Wheels Skate Center coupons, McMinnville Lane passes, and free movie rentals.
For ages 10-16, the Civic Center will again hold an Ultimate After Dark Egg Hunt at 8 p.m. at the Jungle Jym.
Admission is $5 for pre-registration and on the day of the event. Prizes include an MP3 player, portable CD and cassette players, portable CD/cassette stereo, cameras, free one month and daily pool passes, and coupons for Hot Wheels and video rentals.
