Couple announce recent marriage

Lori Felice Young and Christopher Aron Cope married recently in an outdoor wedding. A post-wedding gathering was held in the couple?s honor at Newtown, The Baptist Church.
The intimate outdoor wedding of Lori Felice Young and Christopher Aron Cope was solemnized April 15 with Elder Brent Craven officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Phyllis Jones Martin and Larry Wayne Young. She is the granddaughter of Ruby and the late Charlie Young, the late Perry and Ida West Jones and the late Ruby Schuster.

Mr. Cope?s parents are Lewis Ray Cope, Jr. Tommy Harris and the late Katherine Anne Brown. He is the grandson of Ray and Mary Cope, the late Joyce Cope, the late J.C. Hayes, the late Sam and Dorothy June Brock and Lillie and the late John Harris.

A post wedding tea was given in honor of the bride and groom at Newtown, The Baptist Church. The reception was hosted by Sherry Redmon, JoAnn Smithson, Jill Phillips, Janet Phillips, Joan Chandler, Toni Morton, Pam Harris, Mandy Harris and Jewel Wiser.

The foyer of the church featured a guest table displaying bouquets of white roses and framed portraits of the bride and groom on their wedding day. The reception hall was decorated with enormous Kimberly ferns and variegated ivy and hot pink bows. Various floral arrangements graced the tables, along with photos of the newly married couple.

Guests dined on a multitude of fruits, cheeses and hors d?oeuvres. A single tier round wedding cake was iced with white and embellished with hot pink roses and green ivy. The groom?s cake was a chocolate confection adorned with grapes and strawberries, topped with a miniature four-wheeler. Reception servers were Kayla Morton, cousin of the bride and Destiny Bullard, step-sister of the groom.

A wedding celebration was hosted by Larry Young and Fran Meeks was held at the VFW Post 5064. The honorary wedding party included Dana Suzanne Young, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Myers Parson of Mt. Juliet, Lacey Hayes Nash of Murfreesboro, Fran Meeks of Manchester, Laura Michelle Starkey, Mary Brock Womack and Tracy Mayfield Brackley. Mamie Hillis was the honorary flower girl.

Traye Cope, brother of he groom, was his best man. Groomsmen were Bernie Brown, Chris Hayes, Jason Williamson, Rob Nunley and Chris Terry.

Approximately 100 guests enjoyed the festivities, which included hitting a life-size burro pi?ata and dancing to the music of Southern Express, and a special performance by Asstroglyde.

The newlyweds are both graduates of Warren County High School. She is employed as a master barber and stylist at King?s Den Hair Design. Chris is the owner and operator of Bridge Side Market. They are currently residing in McMinnville.
