Novelist to conduct several writing workshops at library

Skinner, who is the author of two mystery novels for young people ? ?Bitsy and the Mystery at Tybee Island? and ?Bitsy and the Mystery at Amelia Island? ? will conduct writing workshops for both adults and children, and will be the featured speaker for Lunch at the Library this Thursday at noon.
Lunch at the Library is free and open to the public. Bring a friend and a brown bag lunch. Dessert and beverage will be provided. To register, contact the library by phone at 473-2428 or by e-mail at magnessmain@blomand.net.
A Thursday evening workshop, ?Writing the Personal Memoir,? will provide inspiration and instruction for those who would like to write about their personal experiences. Friday evening, Skelton will teach a session on ?Non-fiction Writing for the Magazine Market.?
Prior registration is required and may be made by coming by the library, by phone, or by e-mail as listed above. The registration fee, which is $15 per workshop, may be paid at the door on the evening of the class.
Each participant who completes the workshop will receive a certificate and an autographed copy of one of Ms. Skelton?s books. Refreshments will be served. Both the Thursday and Friday evening sessions start at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday morning, from 9-11 a.m., Skelton will teach a creative writing class for young people. The class, which will focus on poetry and short story writing, will be of interest mainly to students between the ages of 8 and 14, although it is not strictly limited to that age group.
Students who complete the class will receive a certificate and an autographed copy of one of Skelton?s books. There is no charge for attending the class, but prior registration is required and can be made by coming by the library, by phone, or by e-mail as listed above.
