Bowling: Cumberland Lumber takes league lead

Cumberland Lumber grabbed the lead with 57 points in the Gold and Silver bowling league Tuesday afternoon at McMinnville Lanes.

Beacon Federal is in second with 55 points, followed by Crouch Motors and Jones Twins Beauty Salon who are tied for third with 53 points each.

Rounding out the rest of the standings, Dr Pepper has 52, McMinnville Lanes 49.5, Security Federal 45 and Holder Realty has 35.5 points.

Faye Burch had the hot hand for the women as she turned in the high game of the day with a 198 and high series of 544. Patty Womack rolled a 193 game with a 494 series. Madeline Hutchins had a 168 game and a 468 series, while Mickey Patton rolled a 157 game and a 442 series and Peggy White turned in a 151 game with a 436 series. Robbie Bond had a 153 game and Charlene Hollingsworth turned in a 151 game.

For the men, top honors went to James Hutchins, who rolled a 239 high game and 553 series. Gene Money had a 183 game and a 522 series. Larry Patton turned in a 183 game with a 488 series and Bill Hale had a 182 game with a 523 series. Richard Crass had a 488 series on the day and Don Drake turned in a 190 game.

Dr Pepper had the high game in team play with a 693 and high series went to Crouch Motors, which posted a 1881.
