Grant sank 16 of 23 shots overall, including 7 of 10 3-pointers for Tennessee State (7-10, 6-5 Ohio Valley). Tennessee Tech (14-7, 9-4) was led by Belton Rivers’ 18 points.

Tennessee State led 32-29 at the half, before pulling away in the second half.

Tennessee Tech fought back during the final four minutes behind clutch shooting from Rivers, closing the gap to 60-57 late in the game.

Tennessee State used clutch free throws to build back their lead to the final margin.

Clarence Matthews scored 10 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and had a block for the Tigers.

Reiley Ervin had 11 points for Tennessee State, while teammate Wayne Arnold finished with 7 points and 6 assists.
