Friday afternoon at the Willow Brook Golf Course, 14 teams hit the links for Boyd Christian School’s inaugural four-man golf scramble.

The tournament was a winner-take-all format, as the team of Bobby Newby, Sam Martin, James Phifer and Darrell Walling carded a 13-under 59 to win the event. The foursome made the turn at six-under, and posted a 29 on the back nine. Phifer also had the longest drive of the day on the 11th hole.

All proceeds for this year’s tournament will go to Boyd’s athletic department to help out with added expense of the Bronco and Lady Bronco sports programs.

The Broncos will make this an annual event for their athletic department, and hope to see each year get bigger and better.
