Girls’ freshman team set
Lady Pioneer freshman basketball coach Carl Curtis along with head basketball coach Ann Eades and the rest of the high school staff held tryouts on Monday and Tuesday for the 2005-06 freshman team, with nine players making the cut for next season’s roster.
During the two-day session 21 girls went through a series of shooting and agility drills to help the Lady Pioneer coaching staff narrow the field.
Breaking down the number of players from the elementary schools sending players to the next level, was the Warren County Middle School with four players making the team. Morrison had two players, Centertown, Eastside and Irving College had one player each to make the freshman squad.
The freshman squad will join the varsity team during workouts over the next several weeks as the team prepares for several upcoming camps. Ann Eades and the Lady Pioneer basketball team will be holding their annual camp June 20-23 for girls in grades 3-9.
