Main Street ready to kick off live music:Diverse lineup caters to all musical tastes

Live music will once again make its way to downtown McMinnville — this time with a summer lineup that promises to impress.

Everything from country, to classic rock, to traditional Hispanic music will be featured during a Friday night series that’s called Main Street Live and begins June 3.

“This is probably the best lineup we’ve had,” said Main Street McMinnville director Chris Wilson. “As far as the diverse groups and the professionals we have playing, it should be able to make everyone happy.”

It all starts June 3 with the bluegrass band Just Lookin’ Around with special guest Jonathan Jones. The summer series lasts until the end of August.

Due to Court Square construction issues, all the performances in June have been moved to the vacant lot next to Security Federal. The plan is to return the entertainment back to its regular location in front of the Chamber building in July.

“We always like it to be on Court Square, but this is an opportunity to spread this to another part of downtown,” said Wilson. “And where we’re moving really is a nice location.”

Main Street Live features a majority of performers who have roots in Warren County or ties to the Upper Cumberland area. Many of them have professional careers in the music industry.

The concert series is free of charge. Sponsors include Ben Lomand TV, Clear Channel Radio, and the Southern Standard, your source for hometown news.
