Cubs crown Dairy Queen 22-2
The West Side Auto Cubs poured it on against the Dairy Queen Astros Monday night at Hoover-Millraney Field, winning 22-2 in two innings in 9- and 10-year-old Cal Ripken action.
Every member of the Cubs scored at least one run on their way to the mercy-rule shortened win.
Alex Walker, Austin Wright, Jonathan Reed, Tyrus Keel and Kaimen Collins had a hit each, while Hayden Jones got the win, fanning four batters and giving up a hit, four walks and two runs.
Colin Stubblefield had the Astros’ only hit. Nick Cantrell took the loss, pitching the first inning, and Justin Savage, Logan Hill and Dakota Myers all saw action out of the bullpen.

Rangers 6, White Sox 5
The Tennessee Auto Rangers kept their unbeaten record alive, scoring in the bottom of the sixth to edge the Woodlee’s Garage White Sox.
Dylan Barnes got the win in relief of Grayson Woods, pitching the final four innings and giving up three hits and two runs while walking three and striking out eight. Woods pitched three innings of no-hit ball, but walked six and gave up three runs.
Cory Cantrell took the loss for the Sox, working the final two innings in relief of Daulton Foster.
The White Sox got hits from Foster, Dylan Jones and Cantrell, while the Rangers got two hits from Barnes and one each from Logan Underhill, Bryce Caten, Woods and Robbie McCollough.
Braves 16, Astro 4
An eight-run third helped propel the McBride’s Window Braves to a win over the Astros Saturday night.
Mitchell Steiner had two hits and three RBIs in the winning effort, while Hunter Mullican, Ryan Jennings, Zach York, Adam Diamond and Peyton Collins had a hit each.
Collins pitched the first inning, striking out three, and York took the win in relief.
Dustin Bond got the loss for the Astros, allowing nine hits and 13 earned runs while walking seven batters and striking out three. The Astros’ hits came from Bond, Dakota Myers, Nicholas Simmons and Lane Steakley.
Rangers 15, Yankees 2
The Tennessee Auto Rangers rolled to a big win over the Covenant Academy Yankees, with Dylan Barnes and Logan Underhill combining for 13 strikeouts.
Barnes got the win, pitching four innigns and fanning seven, while Underhill struck out six over two innings of relief.
Grayson Woods had a triple and went 2-for-4, while Barnes and Underhill added a hit each.
Hunter Chilton, David Lee and Travis Ayers worked two innings each for the Yankees, with Chilton taking the loss. Lee had two hits, while Ayers, Lee Carden and Chilton had a hit each.
White Sox 6, Braves 1
Woodlee’s Garage got five innings of two-hit ball from Daulton Foster, who fanned 10 McBride’s Window batters on his way to the win. Cory Cantrell pitched a perfect sixth.
Foster helped his cause with three hits, while Cantrell, Dylan Jones and Harrison Hale had one each.
The Braves got hits from Hunter Mullican and Mitchell Steiner, while Davis Adcock got the loss on the mound, pitching two innings. Mullican, Peyton Collins and Ryan Jennings all came on in relief.
