Rangers roll, still unbeaten
The Tennessee Auto Rangers improved to 4-0 in the 9- and 10-year-old Cal Ripken baseball league Tuesday, blanking the Dairy Queen Astros 19-0.
Grayson Woods pitched the first three innings for the Rangers, allowing just one hit to Dakota Myers while walking two batters and striking out eight. Logan Underhill worked a perfect fourth, striking out the side.
At the plate, Underhill went 3-for-3, scoring three runs, while Jake Driver and Bryce Caten had two hits each. Woods scored four of his team’s runs, stealing three bases during the game.
Myers tok the loss on the mound for the Astros, surrendering 12 hits and 16 runs (10 earned) before giving way to Justin Savage in the fourth.

Cubs 10, Braves 9
The West Side Auto Cubs clipped the McBride’s Window Cleaning Braves, with Jonathan Reed picking up the win in relief and Alex Walker connecting for a home run.
Reed pitched the game’s final two innings, coming in as the third Cub pitcher behind Hayden Jones and Austin Wright. Reed didn’t give up a hit, an dfanned five batters.
Walker and Wright had two hits each, while Hunter Mullican led the Braves with four hits, two runs and four RBIs.
Mitchell Steiner, Peyton Collins, Ryan Jennings and Zach York all saw action on the mound for the Braves, with Jennings allowing five runs and taking the loss during his two innings of relief.
Reds 13, Indians 3
The Cohutta Water Reds got a four-inning one-hitter from Logan Chandler, as they stopped the All State Indians with a 10-run victory.
Chandler recorded eight strikeouts, and gave up three runs despite allowing just one hit to Jacob Newby. He walked four batters on his way to the victory.
Preston Prater took the loss for All State, giving up eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits and three walks. Newby pitched the game’s final two innings, allowing five runs (four earned) and fanning four.
The Reds got a 3-for-3 game from Cody Brock, who doubled and stole a base, while Jessee Hillis and Lance Kelley had two hits each. Chandler stole two bases and scored two runs to help his own cause.
Marlins 11, Yankees 6
The Sony Salon Marlins picked up their second win of the year on Monday, with a victory over the Covenant Academy Yankees.
Mitchell Morton had two hits and two steals for the Marlins, while Garrett Walker doubled and Levi Felton had a single and stole two bases. Logan Wanamaker pitched three innings, allowing five runs (three earned), while Dylan Young worked two innings of relief.
Travis Ayers, Hunter Chilton and Kendall Rutledge saw action on the mound for the Yankees, while Lee Carden and David Lee had two hits each and Ayers, Chilton and Devin Rogers had one apiece.
Marlins 10, Indians 7
Tyler Patterson, Logan Wanamaker and Dylan Young combined for a one-hitter, as the Sony Salon Marlins downed the All State Indians with help from a 2-for-2 day at the plate from Jacob Roller. Wanamaker had his team’s other hit.
Patterson fanned 11 batters and walked eight, allowing a hit to Jacob Newby and four of the Indians’ runs.
Alex Hillis fanned six over three innings for the Indians, while Preston Prater had two innings of two-run relief, striking out four.
White Sox 10, Reds 0
Kyrie Stone had the Cohutta Water Reds’ only hit, as his team was blanked behind the pitching efforts of Daulton Foster and Cory Cantrell. Foster struck out six batters over three innings, and Cantrell fanned the side in the fourth.
Harrison Hale had a single, and Mitchell Barrett added a double as the White Sox took advantage of 12 walks from losing pitcher Logan Chandler and reliever Stone.
Braves 7, Yankees 5
The McBride’s Window Braves got just one hit, a single from Davis Adcock, but used a doxen walks to their advantage.
Peyton Collins got the win in relief, coming on in the third and working three innings. Both he and starter Mitchell Steiner recorded five strikeouts. Zack York struck out the side in the sixth for the save.
David Lee fanned six but walked seven during three innings of work, and Hunter Chilton took the loss, but fanned nine in his three innings of relief. Kendall Rutledge pitched a perfect top of the sixth.
Cubs 14, Indians 4
West Side Auto rolled to a 10-run win behind seen hits and eight walks, while Jonathan Reed, Alex Walker, Collin Hutchins and Hayden Jones combined for a no-hitter, walking nine and giving up four runs.
Hutchins had a 4-for-4 day at the plate, while Walker, Jones and Daniell Sheets also had hits for the Cubs.
Jacob Newby took the loss for All State, allowing eight runs (seven earned) in the first inning on three hits and five walks. Preston Prater and Alex Hillis both pitched out of the bullpen.
