Sports Briefs: WCMS boys soccer tryouts

Tryouts for the Warren County Middle School boys soccer team will be Feb. 7, 8 and 10 at the WCMS football practice field. Tryouts will last from 3:30 until 5 p.m.

Morrison Ruritan sign-ups
For anyone interested in playing in the Morrison Ruritan ball leagues this season, registration will be held on the following dates: Feb. 26, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.; March 1 and March 3 from 6-8 p.m.; March 12, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.; March 17 6-8 p.m.; and March 19, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Cost is $25 per player, and anyone ages 2-20 is eligible. For more information call Sarah at 635-2068, Tammy at 635-3382 or Mike at 939-2540.

Centertown ball sign-ups
Registration for Centertown Ball Park will be Feb, 18-19, March 4-5, March 18-19, and April 1-2 from 6-8 p.m. on Friday nights and 8-11 a.m. Saturday mornings at the Centertown Community Center (next to the school).
Breakout of the leagues will be Training (3-4 year olds), T-Ball (5-7), Coach Pitch (8-10), Preteen Softball (11-13), Early Teen Softball (14-16), and Late Teen Softball (17-19), with ages as of July 1, 2005.

Youth baseball, softball sign-ups
Sign-ups for Warren County Youth Baseball and Softball will be Feb. 18 and 25 from 5-8:30 p.m., and February 19 and 26 from 9 a.m.-3p.m. at the McMinnville Civic Center. Parents should bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate. For more information you can go to the WCYB website at www.wcyb.org.

Volleyball tournament
The McMinnville Parks and Recreation Department will hold a six-on-six volleyball tournament at the McMinnville Civic Center Feb. 19, starting at 4 p.m.
Entry fee is $80 per team with a maximum of seven players per team. Registration deadline is Feb. 11. Awards to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams will be given.
The tournament will be limited to first 10 teams. For more information call Jeff Anselmo at 473-1212.

Young Men United Basketball Camp
If you’re interested in your child learning how to play basketball, you can bring them to the Bobby Ray Gym on Sunday evenings from 5:30-8 p.m. every week. The gym is strictly supervised, and everyone is welcome. Any age group and adults are also welcome. For more information contact Donald Crisp at 815-3993.
