Rena McBride, 87

McMinnville resident and Grundy County native Rena McBride, 87, died Dec. 29 at River Park Hospital after an extended illness.

A homemaker and a member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church, she was the daughter of Etter and Junie Stotts Dykes; and was preceded in death by her husband, Howard McBride; and daughter, Peggy Walker.

She is survived by daughters, Melba Williams and Janie Hobbs, both of McMinnville; sons, Jack Walker and Wendell McBride, both of McMinnville and Billy Joe Hobbs of Altamont; 12 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Hassie Griffith of McMinnville.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at High’s Chapel with Rev. Benny Tate and Ray Skyles officiating. Burial will follow at Tarlton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service today at High’s.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
