Morrison resident and Grundy County native Alvin Boyd Myers, 56, died unexpectedly Aug. 24 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The owner of A.J.’s Nursery and a member of the Christian Fellowship Church, he was the son of Chester Myers of Centertown and the late Willie Mae Higgins Myers.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Elaine Basham Myers; daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Doug Rife of Centertown, Annette and Dudley Lewis of Morrison; sister, Carolyn Myers of McMinnville; brothers, Charles and Bennie Myers of McMinnville, Ricky, Steve, Kenneth and Bobby Myers of Centertown; and grandson, Trey Lewis of Morrison.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at High’s Chapel with Danny Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Shellsford Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service today at High’s.

Harvey H. Myers, 91
Morrison resident and Cannon County native Harvey H. Myers, 91, died Aug. 26 at NHC Healthcare after a two-month illness.
A retired Carrier employee and a member of the Methodist Church, he was the son of the late John and Betty Scott Myers; and was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Fults Myers; sons, Earl, William and Richard Freeman Myers; daughters, Harvie Grace Perry and Jewell Dean Hillis; brothers, Doyle, Johnny E., and Avery Myers; and sisters, Myrtle and Stella Glenn, Ethel Tosh and May Brady.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Hessie Myers of Viola, Lloyd Myers, Tony and Olivia Myers, all of Grundy County; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and John Sears of Summitville; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services will beheld at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Chapel Church with Billy Nunley officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Love-Cantrell & Cope.

James Gray Stubblefield, 75
Plantation Place, Fla., resident and Viola native James Gray Stubblefield, 75, died Aug. 23 at Hospice Care Center in Port Orange, Fla.
A retired computer programmer after 35 years of service with IBM and a Korean War veteran, he moved to Dayton in 2000 from Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
The son of the late Herman Powell and Mamie Hall Stubblefield, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Milly; daughter, Sandy Stubblefield of Viola; granddaughter, Cherrie Sage-Albertston, and husband Peter; great-grandchildren, Andromeda, Leandra and Kyle of Manchester; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman and Rebecca Stubblefield of Birmingham, Charles and Carolyn Stubblefield of Gastonia, N.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Lloyd Collier of Elgin, Okla.; sister-in-law, Maxine Stubblefield of Manchester; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Stubblefield, Edwin and Millie Stubblefield.
A memorial service will be held in Viola at a later date. Alavon Direct Cremation of South Daytona is in charge of arrangements.

McMinnville resident Holly Maria Stamps, 12, died Aug. 24 at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville.
A homebound student, she is survived by her mother, Kim Stamps of Nashville; grandmother, June Carol Dunlap of McMinnville; great-grandmother, Dafodean Hillis of McMinnville; sister, Lucy Stamps of McMinnville; aunt and uncle, Tim and Sandra West of McMinnville; cousins, Zach, Tori and Luke West. She was preceded in death by uncle, Danny West.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at McMinnville Funeral Home with Rev. Roland Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service today at McMinnville Funeral Home.

Susan Delores Trail Bullard, 61
Manchester resident and Michigan City, Ind., native Susan Delores Trail Bullard, 61, died Aug. 25 at her home after an extended illness.
A cosmetologist and a member of Convenant Fellowship Church, she was the daughter of the late George Henry and Jewel Louvenia Lester Crosslin Trail.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Bullard; daughter, Audrey Brown of Manchester; son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Angie Bullard of Greenbriar; grandchildren, Adrian, Gravin and Kaelyn Bullard of Greenbrier; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geraldine and Jimmy Turnage, Wanda and Guy Gilley, all of Manchester; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Marie Trail of Manchester, George and Peggy Trail of Paragould, Ariz., Larry and Michael Trail of Murfreesboro, David and Pam Trail of Cameron, N.C.

Ruby Prater Fitts, 85
DeFuniak Springs, Fla., resident, formerly of Warren County, Ruby Prater Fitts, 85, died Aug. 24 at her home.
An employee of General Shoe Company for 31 years, retiring in 1977, she was the daughter of John W. and Zona Prater and was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Fitts; brother, Tom Prater; and grandson, Robert Michael Greene.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Robert Greene of DeFuniak Springs; grandson, David Greene and his wife, Tina of Melbourne, Fla.; granddaughter-in-law, Lucy Greene of Mary Ester, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Jesse, Dylan, Hannah and Emily; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Palmer resident, formerly of McMinnville, Khyva N. James, 33, died Aug. 25.
A graduate of Warren County High School, she is survived by her husband, Lebron James; son, Brody and Dylan Fernandez; stepdaughter, Chasity James; stepson, Keegan; parents, Frank and Sue Cope of McMinnville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Aaron and Rhonda Cope, Kane and Emily Cope, all of McMinnville; grandparents, Nevis and Ima Jean Jacobs; nephews, Blake, Riley and Kadin Cope; nieces, Danielle Cope, Kali and Kara Page.
