Rogers, Perkins marry at Smartt Church

Tasha Ann Rogers and Darin James Perkins were married in a ceremony taking place June 19 at Smartt Church of God. Charles Dodson performed the wedding at 1 o’clock in the afternoon.

The bride is the daughter of Donnie and Sandy Watts and granddaughter of Christine Kirby. Parents of the bridegroom are Lane and Brenda Perkins.

Recorded musical selections played during the ceremony included “Differences,” “All My Life,” and “I Will.”

Swags of white tulle draped the aisle with the pews marked with satin bows of yellow and purple.

The bride was escorted by her uncle, Roger Thorpe. Pearls and beads embellished the bride’s princess-style gown and long train of white satin and sheer lace. The bodice was fashioned with a scalloped neckline, short sleeves and elongated waist coming to a deep point in the front. Her waist-length veil of silk illusion was attached to a decorative bridal headband. She wore pearl jewelry and carried a bouquet of yellow roses and purple daisies tied with lace ribbon.

Chosen as the bride’s matron of honor was her sister, Christy Northcutt of Centertown. She wore a sheer floral frock in yellow and held a bouquet of white roses and baby’s breath.

Flower girl was daughter Alexis Rogers, who wore a white dress enhanced with pearls. A halo of baby’s breath was fastened in her hair and a purple and yellow corsage was worn at her wrist.

Ring bearers were Chase Rogers and Dashawn Perkins, sons of the couple.

Corey Wood was best man.

Approximately 50 guests attended the reception given at Smartt church. The tables with trailing ivy were centered with glass bowls containing yellow roses floating in water.

Adornment on the bride’s table was a floral arrangement in the bride’s chosen colors. Yellow roses adorned the double tiered wedding cake with white wedding bells of lace topping the upper tier.
