Alec celebrates 1st

Alec Hobbs, son of Derek and Amber Hobbs, marked the occasion of his first birthday at an outdoor party given May 15 at the home of his grandparents, Jeffery and Tina Hobbs. He was born May 12, 2003.

“Rubber Duckies” was emphasized as the chosen theme. The birthday boy was presented his own individual cake and guests were served portions of a cake decorated with a claw-foot bathtub, rubber ducks and bubbles. Refreshments also included sandwiches, chips and party punch.

Face-painting and an array of children’s toys on the lawn were provided to the delight of younger guests.

Among some 30 guests present were Alec’s maternal grandparents, Gary and Patsy Surber, and his great-grandmothers, Frances Hobbs and Betty Redmon.
