Luau entertains residents
Clusters of colorful helium balloons, paper palm trees and decorative garlands provided a festive atmosphere for the “Fun in the Sun” Hawaiian luau featured June 5 at McMinnville Boarding Home.
The residents and guests were attired in their brightest wearing apparel to compliment the array of tropical paper leis and ladies’ hair blooms presented to them as the party got under way.
Hand-held circular fans helped stir the breeze as the group gathered under patio umbrellas and in a shaded area at the rear of the home.
A variety of games, tasty food and entertaining music added to the enjoyment of the special day. The event was coordinated by owners Alma McCormick and Joyce Hillis, and activities director Shirley Buckner, who were assisted by volunteers in carrying out the party.
