City meetings postponed till Thursday

Members of the McMinnville Board of Mayor and Aldermen expressed their sympathy to Alderman Michael Chrisawn in the death of his son and postponed last night’s regularly scheduled board meeting.

Mayor Royce Davenport issued a press release noting the board’s sympathies and said members of the board are scheduled to meet tomorrow at 7 p.m.

The following committee meetings are also scheduled for tomorrow: Building and Grounds at 5:30 p.m.; Streets and Sanitation at 6 p.m.; Finance at 6:45 p.m.; and Water and Wastewater immediately following the board meeting.

On tomorrow’s agenda is consideration of bids for the Main Street McMinnville downtown economic development/revitalization project, estimated to total around $5 million. Those bids were opened June 10.

Officials are expected to discuss the bids in the Streets and Sanitation Committee meeting and according to the agenda, could vote on awarding the bids during the full board session. The low bid is just under $4 million for construction.
