Warren Co. Babe Ruth splits with Cookeville

In the 15-16 year-old Babe Ruth league Cookeville one-hit VFW to pick up the 6-1 win. Evan Moran took the loss for VFW and Seth Phifer went seven innings striking out 13 to get the win for Cookeville. Martin Scott had the only hit of the night for VFW.

Cherokee Manufacturing got some revenge for the Warren County teams by downing Cookeville 7-6.

Dillion Childers pitched 10 innings to pick up the win. For Cherokee Manufacturing, Justin Armes had three hits, D.J. Rowland, Matt Shields, Bryan Bouldin and Ryan Williams had one hit each in the win.
