Hillis Creek Nursery shuts down Wooodlee’s Garage

Action last week in the 9-10 year-old Cal Ripken league, Hillis Creek Nursery defeated Woodlee’s Garage 5-2.

Lazaro Alvarez pitched the first two innings for Hillis Creek giving up one run on two hits to get the win. For Woodlee’s, Cory Cantrell pitched five innings to pick up the loss.

Woodlee’s scored one run in the first inning, one run in the second and one run in the sixth. Hillis Creek scored one run in the first, one in the second and three runs in the fifth.

For Hillis Creek, Hunter Daniel, Conner Dixon, Austin Green and Wade Justice had one hit each. For Woodlee’s, Cory Cantrell and Brandon Whitman had one hit each.

West Side Auto rolled past Cohutta Water 13-4 in five innings. Luke Hillis picked up the win, while Jake Damon gave up nine hits to take the loss.

West Side scored one run in the first, five runs in the second, three runs in the fourth and four runs in the fifth. Cohutta Water scored one in the first, two in the fourth and one run in the fifth.

For West Side, Luke Hillis and Nathan Patterson had two hits each and Dylan Jones added one hit. For Cohutta Water, Casey Tomberlin, Jacob Roller, Thomas Locke, Jordan Dennis and Jake Damon had one hit each.

Security Federal downed West and Gribble Builders 14-2. Grayson Woods picked up the win, while Dylan Barnes pitched three innings for the save. Kyle Haley pitched one inning to record the loss for West and Gribble.

Security Federal scored three runs in the first inning, four in the third, one in the fourth and six in the fifth. West and Gribble scored one run in the third and one in the fourth inning.

For Security Federal, Brett Mullican and Bryce Caten had two hits each. Dylan Barnes, Garrison Holmes, Grayson Woods and Tyler Worthington had one hit each. For West and Gribble, Gage Myers picked up the only hit of the night.
