March 5: Houston Museum Antiques Show and Sale

Chattanooga’s prestigious Houston Museum Antiques Show and Sale will celebrate its 30-year anniversary March 5-7 at the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Convention and Trade Center.

The show, all proceeds of which go to the not-for-profit Houston Museum of Decorative Arts and its educational programs, annually attracts well-known dealers from all over United States to display and offer for sale antiques of almost every kind, including antique glass, ceramics, jewelry, silver, furniture, books, prints, paintings, clocks and much more.

A special highlight during the 30-year anniversary celebration will be a display of collections of antique coverlets and quilts. While the late Anna Safley Houston, founder of the museum, is best known for her world-famous collections of antique glass and ceramics, she also had a sizable collection of coverlets.

Information about the show may be obtained by contacting Amy H. Frierson, director of the Houston Museum, at (423) 267-7176.
