Wrestlers competing at state
Four Warren County High School wrestlers traveled to Chattanooga Thursday to compete in the TSSAA State Championship Tournament.
Pioneers Richard Kloosterman, Donnie Roach, Justin Anderson and Chris King will represent the WCHS squad.
Roach, who competes in the 135-pound class, brought home a region championship trophy. Roach will take on Chris Randolph from Cookeville in the state tournament.
Kloosterman placed third in the region, and will take on Jason McCroskey out of Soddy-Daisy. Anderson also placed third in the region and will take on Zack McMacklin out of Dobyns Bennett. Chris King, Warren County’s heavyweight, brought home a third-place finish in the region tournament and will take on Carl Taylor from Ridgeway.
“I am really excited for these guys who will compete this weekend, and I’m pleased with the program and where it’s going,” said head coach Matt Turner. “Last year we sent two wrestlers to the state; this year four and my goal next year is to double that.”
