East End welcomes Robinson family

The congregation at East End Church of Christ will be serving a covered dish dinner Sunday to welcome Garland Robinson and his family. The dinner will take place in the annex following the morning worship service.

Robinson and his wife, Angelita, were raised in Cookeville. They have three children, Hillary, 20, Josh 17, and Jesse, 8.

They resided in Knoxville for two years while in school, then moved to Birmingham, England in 1978 and did mission work for one year. Upon their return to the states, they worked for five years with the Waynesville Church in Fort Wayne, Ind., and 19 years with the East Corinth Church in Corinth, Miss. Having recently arrived in McMinnville, they are now working with the East End Church.

“We are thrilled to be back in Middle Tennessee and to be able to associate with its fine people,” Robinson said.

Robinson has preached the Gospel for 31 years through various avenues: Pulpit, classroom, newspaper, radio, television and Internet. He is editor of a monthly Gospel journal, “Seek the Old Paths,” that has a worldwide mailing list.

He has participated in more than a dozen campaigns in several states and has made mission trips around the world in countries including Canada, England, Ireland, India and Taiwan. He is a frequent speaker in lectureships and in Gospel meetings.

“We’d like to invite the public to visit the East End Church of Christ,” Robinson said. “You will find a warm and friendly congregation that loves the Lord, loves His word and loves the people of the community.”
