Standard employees prepare to kiss pig:One unlucky worker will have to pucker up
Do you believe in love at first sight? Are you the kind of person who has a secret desire to be a part of helping someone find their true love? Would you pay to see someone kiss a pig?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, well, at least to the last one, then you are just the kind of person we need for the “Southern Standard Kiss a Pig Challenge.” The Standard has included a ballot in today’s paper on page 7-B that lists 15 Standard employees.
Readers can then vote for one, or more, of these employees with the lucky winner agreeing to kiss an actual pig at the end of the Standard’s annual Pig Week. Pig Week, or the week the Standard goes hog wild about its customers, is being held Feb. 23-27 this year, with the kiss of the century set for Friday, Feb. 27.
Votes require a minimum donation of $1 with the money going to the Humane Society of Warren County. The candidate who has the most money donated in their name will be declared the “winner.”
In addition to today’s newspaper, ballots can be picked up at the Standard office, or voters can simply write the name of their candidate on a piece of paper and turn it in with your donation. Voters can bring their ballots to the Standard office or mail them to:
