Fall Creek Falls’ 3-day celebration offers crafts, music

Fall Creek Falls State Park welcomes the spirit of Christmas each year with its three-day Christmas on the Mountain celebration at the Fall Creek Falls Inn and Conference Center in Pikeville. The special event is slated Dec. 5 through 7.

In addition to a large display of crafts for sale, there will be activities for children and adults including Christmas craft-making, Victorian tea parties, and Christmas Carols being sung throughout the weekend by various groups and choirs. The tea parties are offered on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for kids ages 3 to 12. Make tea party reservations by calling Betty Bickford at 423-881-3297.

Singing will conclude just prior to Santa’s visit at 7 p.m. with gifts for the little ones.

The day’s activities will be recorded by video to send to local heroic military personnel who are away from home this holiday. A list of their addresses will be provided where celebration attendees can send them a card expressing thanks for their service to our country.

Around 8:30 p.m. everyone will gather around the fireplace and join in singing just as in days gone by.

Fall Creek Falls Inn is offering its Christmas on the Mountain package that includes two nights lodging and breakfast for two priced at $84 plus applicable taxes. To make inn reservations, call 800-250-8610 or contact the inn at 423-881-5241.
