Fults now charged with impersonating private eye

Fults, 38, was charged recently with impersonating a licensed professional for an alleged incident in Rutherford County. He was taken into custody here on the charge and is again free on bond.
According to Randy Gross of the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department, Fults was charged after lawmen received a complaint from a businessman in Rutherford County, claiming Fults had identified himself as a private investigator. The businessman reportedly told authorities he had seen Fults’ picture in the paper and became suspicious. Gross would not comment about specifics of the case since it remains under investigation. The crime is a Class E felony punishable by one to two years in prison.
However, the new count is low on Fults’ worries as he waits for his trial on rape charges to begin Oct. 7 in Murfreesboro. Fults is charged with five counts of rape, 20 counts of sexual battery and 20 counts of statutory rape for allegedly engaging in improper sexual contact with a 16-year-old Murfreesboro boy. Fults was an instructor at the time in the Rutherford County school system; however, the alleged victim did not attend the same school where Fults taught.
Fults, who did not want to comment on the recent impersonation charges, has denied his guilt in the sex case. Fults’ attorney, Guy Dodson, did not respond to numerous phone calls from the Southern Standard.
