Standard football contest offers chance at $25,000

Folks will have an opportunity to win many other prizes – including cash, which will be up for grabs every week in our own Southern Standard four-digit prize vault.
Each week, we will draw 10 entry blanks from all the entries we receive. On each entry form will be 10 NFL games to pick along with a college or high school game to serve as a tiebreaker.
The 10 winners picked each week become contestants in a game where they try and open a prize vault with a four-digit number combination. The more games picked correctly mean more times they can attempt to open the prize vault.
For example, getting one of the 10 games right, will translate to one try at the prize vault.
After football season, the first week of January, we will draw from all entries received to determine who will try to open the $25,000 vault where the only way to win is to key in the correct six-digit code (no hints given, sorry). You can be drawn up to a maximum of five times so enter often.
Entry blanks can be obtained in every Wednesday edition of the Southern Standard or from one of the four sponsors listed on that week’s entry blank. Entries can then be turned in at the Southern Standard office or any of that week’s sponsors.
Pigskin Prognosticator rules are as follows:
1. Pick the winners of this week’s 10 football matchups published in Wednesday’s Standard.
2. Predict the final score of the listed tiebreaker game.
3. Bring your entry blank to the Standard office or one of the weekly sponsors by Friday at 3 p.m.
4. Look for your name on the winner’s list in next Wednesday’s Southern Standard.
This week the vault contains: $60 cash, dinner for two at Morrison Market, one large pizza at New York Deli, a one-year subscription to the Southern Standard. A complete list of rules is available at the Southern Standard office.
“The more entries turned in, the better the opportunity for success,” said circulation director Steve Warner. “We wanted to do a contest where both football fans and non-football fans can enter and win. So we combined the skill of picking game winners with the luck of choosing the correct prize vault combination.”
