Campaign youth attend Gatlinburg retreat

A group of 12 young people from Campaign Church of God of Prophecy, 48 Friendship Drive in Campaign, recently ventured forth to enjoy a four-day retreat in Gatlinburg. The youth, under the direction of youth ministers Chad and Nichole Bagley, rented two condominiums Aug. 1 through 4 for the all-expense paid experience.

Among the many activities planned was the opportunity to feed the homeless in a soup kitchen in Knoxville. The girls also got to plaster all the guys with a pie in the face as their reward for earning the most money for the trip during a prescribed time.

“I am so proud that several of our young people were able to make this trip,” said Pastor Vernon Caruthers. “Although many of our people donated funds, the youth earned the majority of the money through car washes and the compilation and selling of a church cookbook.”

Several area merchants donated food supplies for the trip.
