Training League: Tourney finals matchup set

In Monday night’s winners’ bracket final, Satellite World handed NHC its first loss of the tourney, downing the regular-season champs 15-8. But NHC came back to battle its way into a berth in the championship game, downing Moore Properties 14-9 in the losers’ bracket final to conclude Monday’s play.
In Monday’s other matchup, Moore Properties rallied to end Sonic’s tournament run with a 16-14 victory.
The championship was scheduled for Tuesday night, and if Monday’s meeting between the championship contenders was any indications, fans could look forward to a close contest. Through four innings, Satellite World held a slim 9-8 advantage, but erupted for six runs in the top of the fifth before shutting NHC down to take the victory.
Cory Cantrell, Derek Brumley and Aaron Taylor had three hits apiece for Satellite World, while Hunter Chilton, Mitchell Barrett, Marques Jones and Dillon Tubb added two apiece.
Jalen Boyd, Jared Mullins, Logan McCormick and Kaleb Rymer had two hits each for NHC, with Rymer blasting a solo homer over the left-field fence in the fourth. Connor Dixon, Jake Damon, Micah Welch and Tyler Anselmo added a hit apiece.
Moore Properties rallied to down Sonic, scoring eight runs over the final three innings to win 16-14.
Sonic trailed 7-6 through two innings, but scored three runs in the third and five more in the top of the fourth to go up 14-7 before Moore’s plated four in the bottom of the fourth and two each in the fifth and sixth innings.
Macrae Thompsen had four hits to lead the way for Moore’s, while Micah McColloch added three. Hunter Adams, Davis Adcock, Kyle Haley, Ryan McColloch and Dillon King all had two hits each, while Justin Ware and Timothy Ortez added one apiece.
Drew Tanner’s three hits led Sonic, while Austin Green, Tylan Martin, J.T. Morgan and Tyler Worthington had two each. Juan Gonzales, Jacq Elam, Christian Martin and Shunsuke Nakashima had a hit each as Sonic closed its season.
Moore Properties kept the field, and rallied from an early 4-0 deficit to tie the game against NHC. But the tournament’s top-seeded team plated a run in the second, three in the third, four in the fourth and added two more in the fifth to build a 14-9 advantage and take the win.
Kaleb Rymer kept his hot bat going with four hits, while Trevor Vaughn, Micah Welch, Jalen Boyd and Connor Dixon had three. Jared Mullins, Jake Damon and Logan McCormick had two hits, while Dustin Bouldin added one.
Micah McColloch had four hits for Moore’s, which got three hits each from Macrae Thompsen and Timothy Ortez. Hunter Adams, Justin Ware, Kyle Haley and Ryan McColloch had two hits each, while Dillon King and Davis Adcock had one.
