Hazel Lillie Hobbs, 71
McMinnville resident and Grundy County native Hazel Lillie Hobbs, 71, died July 28 at River Park Hospital after an extended illness.
A homemaker and a member of the Christian Fellowship, she was the daughter of the late Ranch and Allie Sanders Higgins.
She is survived by daughters, Brenda Lewis of Morrison and Joyce Frazier of Dunlap; sons, Mitchell Hobbs of McMinnville and David Hobbs of Shelbyville; sisters, Hester Walls of McMinnville and Grace Hobbs of Altamont; brother, Herman Higgins of McMinnville; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday at Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Sullivan officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Terry Roger Smith, 45
McMinnville resident and Newport, R.I., native Terry Roger Smith, 45, died July 29 at River Park Hospital after an extended illness.
A sales driver with BOC Gas, a member of Faith Trinity Assemblies and a U.S. Navy veteran, he was the son of James Howard and Loretta Ruth Simmons Smith Sr. of McMinnville.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Smith; daughter, Terra Logan Smith of McMinnville; stepson, Jimmy Canaan Caldwell of McMinnville; stepdaughter, Nakeisha McBride of Rock Island; step-grandson, Austin Terriwade McBride; sisters, Phyllis Pegg of Smithville and Vickie Cox of McMinnville; and brothers, Jimmy and Timothy Smith, both of McMinnville and Christopher Smith of Bone Cave.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at High’s Chapel with William Wanamaker officiating. Burial will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at High’s.

Lorelle Ware, 87
San Diego, Calif., resident and Warren County native Lorelle Ware, 87, died July 24 at Scripps-Green Hospital in Lajolla, Calif.
A retired Genesco employee and a member of the Church of Christ, formerly a member of Arlington Church of Christ, she was the daughter of Edward Dison and Nancy Elizabeth Moss Campbell; and was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Barton Ware in 1979.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lil and Joseph Larkin of San Diego; granddaughter, Patricia E. Larkin of San Diego; and sisters, Jackie Bess and Ada Hensley, both of McMinnville.
Services were held Tuesday at High’s Chapel with Butch Bess officiating. Burial followed at Mt. View Cemetery.

Fuzz Martin, 86
Anderson, S.C., resident and Sparta native Bedford Forest (Fuzz) Martin, 86, died July 28 at his home.
A retired employee of Clark Schwebel where he served as superintendent of the Weave Room and a Shriner, he was the son of the late Spurgin and Belle M. Martin; and was preceded in death by brothers, Joe, Robert and Billy Martin; sisters, Ruby Hankins, Laverne Haley, Ruth Meehan and Audrey Dean Matheny; and step-grandson, Chris Osborne.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Hunsinger Martin; step-son, Terry Bryant of Lake Wiley, S.C.; step-daughters, Carolyn McKern and Deborah Osborne, both of Anderson; brothers, Buddy Martin of Kentucky and Jack Martin of Jackson; nine step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson with Rev. James Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson.

Thelma Jane Stewart Hudgens, 89
Sparta resident and White County native Thelma Jane Stewart Hudgens, 89, died July 27 at White County Hospital.
A homemaker, she was the daughter of the late L.J. and Margie Saylors Stewart; and was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Hudgens; and grandson, Ryan Dunham.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Robert Crosslin of Sparta; granddaughters, Deborah Lyn Dunham of McMinnville and Rebecca Jane Stein of Deluth, Ga.; great-grandson, Scott Dunham of McMinnville; and sister, Lorene Cummings of Sparta.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta with Lyle Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Old Zion Cemetery.

Carrie Elaine Beach, 25
Oklahoma City, Okla., resident and Altus, Okla., native Carrie Elaine Beach, 25, died July 18 at her home.
A computer troubleshooter, she attended Altus schools where she finished fourth in her class and later received her B.S. degree from Oklahoma University in 2000. Her hobbies included baking and computer-related projects. She was a member of the Metallica Fan Club.
She is survived by her father, David Glen Burrows of Tipton, Okla.; mother and stepfather, Charlotte and Tullie Harris of Mangum, Okla.; brother and sister-in-law, Rod and Christy Burrows of Tea, S.D.; maternal grandparents, Winfred and Margaret Merritt of McMinnville; paternal grandfather, Carl Burrows of Tipton; and nieces, Rebecca and Samantha Burrows of Tea. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Wanna Burrows.
Graveside services were held July 23 at Roselawn Cemetery in Mangum with Jay Horsley officiating.
