Sign-up for 4-H Camp scheduled

Summer is fast approaching which is a sure sign that 4-H Camp is not far behind. Application forms were distributed at the April club meetings and are also available at the Extension office.

Junior 4-H Camp will be held July 8 through 12 at the Clyde M. York 4-H Training Center in Crossville. This camp is for 4-H members in the fourth, fifth or sixth grades as of Jan. 1, 2002.

Price for the week-long camp is $135 which includes transportation, meals and lodging. The date for sign-up and payment is scheduled May 31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Warren County Extension Office. This will be the only sign-up and only 175 applications will be accepted.

Junior High 4-H Camp is held June 17 through 20 in Crossville with a price of $105. This camp is for 4-H members who are in the seventh or eighth grades as of Jan. 1, 2002. Included are all the activities of Junior Camp with the addition of off-site adventures such as caving or tubing and the high ropes course.

Sign-up date is scheduled for May 24 at the Warren County Extension Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Some of the activities attendees can expect to do at 4-H Camp include swimming, canoeing and a variety of organized sports. Those not interested in sports might want to check out the leather or woodworking shop, take a nature hike or simply hang out with friends.

Remember, the Agricultural Extension Service offers its programs to all eligible persons regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
