Glyen Delton McBride, 69
McMinnville resident and Warren County native Glyen Delton McBride, 69, died March 22 at River Park Hospital.
A retired nurseryman and carpenter and a member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of Willie Green McBride of McMinnville and the late Ernest McBride; and was preceded in death by sister, Omega Aloi.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Powell McBride; sons and daughter-in-law, Glyen Delton McBride Jr., Hervey and Donna M. McBride and Tony McBride, all of McMinnville; granddaughter, Lynessa McBride of McMinnville; step granddaughters, Brandi and Amber Hale of Crossville; great-grandson, Tristin Dawson of McMinnville; brother, James McBride of McMinnville; sisters, Christine Needum of Denton, Texas, Katherine Battoms, Joyce Matheny and Jeri Hillis, all of McMinnville; special nephew, Richard Rogers of Decatur; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at High’s Chapel with Carl Crawford and George Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.today and 9 a.m. until time of service Monday at High’s.

Novella Mae Richards, 83
Sparta resident and Bledsoe County native Novella Mae Richards, 83, died March 22 at NHC in Sparta after an extended illness.
Self-employed with a boarding home and a member of Jehovah’s Witness, she was the daughter of James and Mary Elizabeth Martin Dykes; and was preceded in death by daughter, Freida Adams; and sister, Beattie Hillis.
She is survived by sons, William Templeton of Sparta, Raymond Carl Millraney of Missouri and Willie Joe Millraney of Paris; granddaughter, Jeannie Caryl Templeton of Sparta; 11 grandchildren, several great-granchildren; brother, Otis Dykes of Campaign; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday at Crain Hill Cemetery with Fred Brown officiating.
High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Charles W. Tindell, 55
Warren, Mich., resident and Warren County native Charles W. Tindell, 55, died March 18 in Farmington Hills, Mich.
A construction worker and a Protestant, he was the son of Vernon and Esther Adair Tindell.
He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Norma Jean and Robert Rivera of Holden, Mass. and Michelle of Michigan; sisters and brother-in-law, Carolyn Clore of Warren, Mich., Faye and TonyTalbert of McMinnville; mom, Mamie Tindell of McMinnville; grandchildren, Steven and Kayla Rivera; nephews, Dale Clore of Warren, Mich., James Pedigo of Cookeville, Lee Talbert of McMinnville, and Jim Clore of Arizona; niece, Robin Clore of Cookeville.
Services were held Saturday at High’s Chapel with Bill Hall officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in White County.
High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Walter A. (Babe) Wood, 89
Shelbyville resident Walter A. (Babe) Wood, 89, died March 18 at Bedford County Nursing Home.
A native of Shellsford, he was the son of the late H.O. and Molly Casey Wood. He retired from the state of Tennessee having been employed by the Department of Corrections and Department of Conservation. He played varsity football for the University of Tennessee from 1936-38. He played baseball at the university in 1939. He served in World War II in the Pacific Theater, and later in the U.S. Naval Reserve, attaining the rank of Lt. Commander. He coached football at North Carolina State University, the University of Maryland, and Texas Tech University. He was a member of Shelbyville First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Brown Wood; son, Walter W. Wood of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Sarah Wood of Shelbyville; sister, Velma Bratcher of McMinnville; and grandson, Micah Wood of Shelbyville.
Graveside services with military honors were held Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Argie Cooper Library. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel in Shelbyville was in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Mooneyham Lawson, 80
Woodbury resident and Cannon County native Elizabeth Mooneyham Lawson, 80, died March 23 at her home.
A retired hair dresser and cook at Cannon County Senior Citizens Center and a member of Pleasant View Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Hattie Pittman Mooneyham; and was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Lawson; and son, Bobby Lawson.
She is survived by daughters, Shirley Maxwell of Smyrna and Debbie Lawson of Woodbury; a grandson, David Maxwell II of Smyrna; a great-grandson, David Maxwell III of Smyrna; brother, Mayne Mooneyham of Woodbury; and sisters, Helen Banks and Louise Mullinax, both of Woodbury.
Services wil be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Woodbury Funeral Home Chapel with Odell Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be held until 9 p.m. tonight.
