But on Friday night, the Lady Pioneers fell to Wilson Central 25-14, 25-13 and in the second game fell to Trousdale County 25-19, 25-19.
Coach Franklin Fisher’s squad is playing this weekend short-handed due to Destini Reedy’s neck injury after an automobile accident on Thursday and two girls participating in the fair pageant.
Leading the Lady Pioneers Friday were Mary Kate Fisher and Brittany Frazier, with eight assists each. Fisher had seven kills, Alysa Lankford had eight kills and three blocks and McKenna Rhea had seven kills and two blocks on the night.
“We played well considering we had several players out,” Fisher said. “I had to play several backcourt players at the net tonight, and for the most part it worked out very well.
“We had a little quicker team out on the floor and the girls did a great job of getting to the ball. Our serving was off a little (Friday night), and hopefully we can come back down here (Saturday) and get things back on track.”
