Hot Wheels skates past Woodlee’s, 18-6
Tournament action Thursday night in the 9-10 year-old Cal Ripken league saw Hot Wheels down Woodlee’s Garage 18-6.
Nick Grandey picked up the win for Hot Wheels, while Mitchell Barrett took the loss giving up seven runs on two hits. Hot Wheels scored three runs in the first inning, four in the second, four in the third and seven in the fourth. Woodlee’s scored one in the second, three in the third and two in the fourth.
For Hot Wheels, Tyler Forth and Alex Walker picked up two hits each. Nick Grandey, Logan McCormick and Kaleb Rymer had one hit each. For Woodlee’s, Mitchell Barrett had two hits and Cory Cantrell added one hit.
Security Federal defeated Cohutta Water 8-4 in six innings. Grayson Wood, Brett Mullican and Garrison Holmes saw action on the mound to combine for a one hitter for Security Federal. Jake Damon pitched five innings giving up seven hits in the loss.
Security Federal scored three runs in the first inning, three in the second and two in the third. Cohutta Water scored two in the second and two in the sixth.
For Security Federal, Dylan Barnes had three hits, Garrison Holmes, Robbie McCollough, Brett Mullican and Grayson Woods had one hit each. For Cohutta, Jordan Dennis had the only hit of the night.
Fulmer Brothers rolled over the Orioles 11-1 in four innings. Hunter Chilton struck out four to get the win. David Lee and Logan Walker pitched one inning each. Alex Hillis pitched all four innings for the Orioles.
Fulmer Brothers scored five runs in the fifth inning, one in the second and five in the fourth. The Orioles only run came in the fourth inning.
For Fulmer, Logan Walker had three hits. David Lee and Jacob Reagan had two hits each. Hunter Chilton, Micah McColloch and Kendall Rutledge had one hit each. For the Orioles, Alex Hillis had the only hit of the night.
Dependable Brakes slipped past Dairy Queen 10-9. Dependable Brakes scored two runs in the first , four in the fourth and four runs in the fifth. Dairy Queen scored one run in the first, one in the second, four in the third and three in the sixth.
For Dependable Brakes, Kaleb Tilton and Tylan Martin had two hits each. Mac Britton and Daulton Foster had one hit each. For Dairy Queen, Travis Hillis had two hits, Dustin Bond, Dakota Myers and Will Warren had one hit each.
