Rigsby, Dunn exchange vows

Marriage vows were exchanged by Carolyn L. Rigsby and Bryan F. Dunn in an outdoor ceremony taking place May 22 at the bridegroom’s residence. Bryan Denton performed the ceremony at 5 o’clock in the presence of friends and family.

The bride is the daughter of Virginia Baker of Spencer and the late Bobby Joe Bonner. She is the granddaughter of Louise Curtis of Spencer and the late E.L. Curtis, and the late Arzie and Dora Bonner of McMinnville.

The bridegroom is the son of Janice R. and Harris Haley of McMinnville and the late Joe T. Dunn, and grandson of the late Bryan and Susie Green.

Some 7,000 rose petals had been sprinkled along the pathway to the wedding scene near the river where a water spray and balloons created a unique background. The bridal couple stood before a lattice arch topped with a swag of mixed fresh flowers and banked with ferns in lattice flower boxes.

The bride was escorted by her son, Johnathon Rigsby.

Her wedding gown was fashioned with a fitted bodice overlaid with lace, pearl-covered shoulder straps and an elongated waistline. Pearls and sequins enhanced lace motifs accenting the long satin skirt that extended into a flowing train. She carried a cascading bouquet of roses, white oriental lilies, lavender and peach stock, tri-color waxflower and plumosa greenery.

Mitzi Grizzle, daughter of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a sleeveless gown of lavender satin styled with a slightly scooped neckline, empire waist and back bow. She held a bouquet of white, peach and lavender roses with tri-color waxflower.

Bryan Hawkins served as best man.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held on the lawn where refreshment tables were overlaid in white linen caught up with white satin bows.

At the round register table were clusters of white helium balloons, a bride doll and confetti made from photos of the couple throughout their childhood and teen years. Also, photos were displayed as a memorial to deceased family members.

The bride’s chosen flowers in white, peach and lavender graced graduated levels of the three-tiered wedding cake. The bridegroom’s round cake was iced in chocolate.

Servers were Penny Rigney, Emma Baker, Kirby Broom and Lisa Goolsby.

After a wedding cruise to the Cayman Islands and Jamaica, the couple is residing in McMinnville.

She is a Van Buren County High School graduate and employed by Raintree Manor as a licensed practical nurse. He graduated from Warren County Senior High School and is a respiratory therapist at River Park Hospital.
