Rock Island resident and Wausau, Wis., native Gretchen Marie
Crosley, 38, died June 16 at River Park Hospital.
An employee of Food Lion in Sparta and a member of Abiding
Faith Lutheran Church, she was the daughter of Al and Marge
Schubring of Lake in the Hills, Ill.
She is also survived by her husband, Steve Crosley; daughters,
Sarah Crosley of Morrison, Dana, Stephanie and Camryn Crosley,
all of Rock Island; sister and brother-in-law, Heidi and Rick
Christiansen of Palm Harbor, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Tad
and Jenni Schubring of Sharon, Wis.; and nephews, Silas and
Micah Schubring and Guy Christiansen.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at McMinnville Funeral
Home Chapel with Bill Werth officiating. Entombment will
follow at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. Visitation will be held
from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. until to time of service
Sunday at McMinnville Funeral Home.

Nicholas Allen Locke, 14
Rock Island resident and Warren County native Nicholas Allen
Locke, 14, died June 15 at Erlanger Medical Center in
Chattanooga.
A student at Eastside Elementary School, just graduating the
eighth grade, he was a member of Friendship Baptist Church
where he was a member of the Youth Group, the church softball
league, and Midway Junior Softball League.
He is survived by his mother and her
husband, Renea and David Talley of Rock
Island; father and his wife, Mark and Patricia
Locke of Rock Island; sisters, Kapri Talley of
Rock Island and Kylie Talley of Woodbury;
brothers, Eli Locke and Hunter Bailey, both of
Rock Island; maternal grandparents, Tommy
and Reva Rowland of Rock Island; paternal
grandparents, Edna and Hoyte Hooper of
Smithville; maternal great-grandmother, Mary
Rowland of Rock Island; special friend,
Stephanie Crosley of Rock Island; several aunts,
uncles, cousins, family members and friends. He
was preceded in death by paternal grandfather,
Wayne Locke.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at McMinnville
Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Breedlove officiating. Burial
will follow at Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be held from 1
to 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until time of service Saturday at
McMinnville Funeral Home. Contributions to the Nicholas Locke
memorial fund may be made at Security Federal.

Minnie Belle Warren, 75
McMinnville resident and White County native Minnie Belle
Warren, 75, died June 16 at her home after a lingering illness.
Retired from the marketing department at Formfit Rogers after
32 years of service and a member of the Church of Christ, she was
the daughter of Orville and Sarah Richardson Kirby and was
preceded in death by five halfbrothers.
She is survived by her husband, G.C. Warren; halfsister Pearl
Parsley of Sparta; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mt. View
Cemetery with James Boyd officiating.
High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bessie Marie Herman, 63
McMinnville resident Bessie Marie Herman, 63, died June 16 at
River Park Hospital.
A homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church, she was the
daughter of the late Will and Nettie Herman Driver; and was
preceded in death son, Lester Herman; brothers, Dub Driver and
Jimmy Driver; sister, Macon Warren; halfbrother, Gene Driver;
and halfsisters, Bill Jones, Ruby Henedrix and LassieMai McGee.
She is survived by her husband, George Herman; daughter and
son-in-law, Anne and Robert Martin of McMinnville; son and
friend, Eddie Herman and Shirley Smotherman of Smyrna; four
step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; sister,
Judy Anderson of McMinnville; and brother, Willie Gene Driver
of McMinnville.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Love-Cantrell Funeral
Home in Smithville with Charlie Lawson officiating. Burial will
follow at Webb’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m.
until time of service today at Love-Cantrell of Smithville.
