April 8: Bloom ‘n’ Garden Expo to feature children’s activities
“This is a horticultural exposition,” said Cindy Shapton, president of the Williamson County Master Gardeners Association, the producer of the event, “but we want everyone to know that families are welcome. In fact, children’s events will run all day Friday and Saturday.”
Nancy Massey, chairwoman of the children’s program, outlined the events.
“We will have a two-day program, all day, for the children, except for the Easter egg hunt, which will be held at 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and noon Saturday on the front lawn of the ag center.”
Other events will include a petting zoo, with Williamson County 4-H students bringing their lambs, goats and rabbits. Girl Scouts will be making digital pictures of children with animals and framing them for a minimal price. Decorating rocks and garden markers are a couple of the other projects, as are making clay insects and face painting.
“We want everyone to enjoy this expo,” Shapton said.
Admission is $5 per person, $4 for seniors and $1 for children under 12 years of age.
