Vols season ticket prices to stay same in 2004
“By separating our pricing structure for season tickets and for games with teams who bring a large number of fans, this price increase will be paid primarily by our visitors,” Hamilton said.
The price of a Volunteers’ season ticket will remain $266, or $38 a game, for the upcoming season — marking the fourth consecutive year without a price hike.
However, individual game tickets will jump to $45 for home games against Southeastern Conference opponents Florida, Auburn, Alabama and Kentucky, as well as a Nov. 6 game against Notre Dame.
Individual tickets will remain $38 for the home opener against UNLV Sept. 4 and the homecoming game against Louisiana Tech Sept. 25.
Prices include state and local taxes.
“After surveying the national scene and the cost our fans are paying when they go to other stadiums, we believed this was an appropriate increase,” Hamilton said.
He noted Miami charged $50 a ticket when it hosted Tennessee last year and Vanderbilt charged $55 when the Vols played in Nashville in 2002.
Tennessee season ticket holders also must make a donation to the Volunteer Athletic Scholarship Fund. The VASF anticipates a minimum $500 donation will be needed for a pair of 2004 season tickets.
About 1,200 to 1,800 season tickets become available each year and are allocated to new donors.
