This annual event is one of the major annual fund-raisers for Battle Ground Academy. The planning for the 2004 show began immediately following the 2003 show, and the volunteer organizers are bringing together the fruits of all that hard work and organization.
The Antique Show in Franklin will be held Friday, March 5; Saturday, March 6; and Sunday, March 7, at The Factory on Franklin Road. There’s a $5 admission charge each day, and visitors can register for $500 gift certificates that will be drawn on both Saturday and Sunday.
This show has become a “magnet” for both antique dealers and antique collectors from all over the South and beyond. Previous shows have attracted antique vendors from Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky and Mississippi as well as many from Tennessee.
Some fine and highly collectable antiques are anticipated at this year’s show. In addition to furniture of every description, visitors can expect to see superb estate jewelry, sterling silver, Oriental rugs, rare china and much more. Prestigious trade publications, including Antique Week, recognize The Antique Show in Franklin as one of the best in the South, and also note the enjoyable atmosphere that always surrounds the show.
But the organizers never lose sight of their goal to raise funds for BGA. This year, the annual preview party has been dubbed “the Antiki Party.” Straw hats, tiki lamps and Hawaiian shirts will bring a taste of the South Sea islands to The Factory from 7-10 p.m. Friday, March 5. Appropriately, the popular party band Sons of the Beach will entertain the Antiki partygoers, who will also have an opportunity to browse the antiques while enjoying suitable refreshments.
The ticket price for the Antiki Preview Party is $100 per person and all proceeds go into the BGA fund. To add to the fun, there will be $5,500 in door prizes to be given away during the party.
