Scrapbook enthusiasts gather for extravaganza
According to Bonnie Peacock, event coordinator, the hobby of scrapbooking is growing in popularity and is quickly spreading throughout the nation. She said there are now scrapbooking events in almost every state of the union.
“Scrappers,” as scrapbook enthusiasts are known, will be attending the Pigeon Forge event from over 13 states and from as far away as Michigan and Mississippi.
“More and more people are discovering this new hobby. It’s unique in that with scrapbooking you are having fun and making an heirloom to be passed down from generation to Generation. Moms and grandmothers love it,” said Peacock.
During the upcoming event in East Tennessee, there will be classes and workshops on page layouts, die-cut use, punch art, new scrapbooking techniques, embellishments, 3-D special effects, color coordination and layout design.
Several scrapbook vendors will have their merchandise displayed showcasing the latest in scrapbooking products and embellishments. Over 20,000 items will be available.
“It’s just a great way for ladies to get together for three days of socializing, treating themselves to great food, enjoy working on their scrapbooks, learning new techniques and getting away from the husband and kids!” said Peacock.
“This is our fourth Extravaganza and we expect it to be a total sellout like the last three events, so scrappers need to make advance reservations to assure they have a seat and work area.”
