Middle School netters sweep Smyrna
Thursday the Warren County Middle School tennis team defeated Smyrna boys 7-2 and the Smyrna girls 6-3 at Smyrna. The Pioneers are now 3-4 with the Lady Pioneers improving to 1-6.
No. 1-seeded Blake Hitchcock defeated Eric Rachaphoumy 6-1, while Morgan Gonder defeated Daniel Necessary 6-0. Bobby Rampp defeated R.J. Hall 6-4, Henry Hall beat Chris Wright 6-2 and Russell Hitchcock won over Bobby Brooks 6-0. Shawn Parsley fell to Chris Wright 6-4.
In doubles play Hitchcock and Gonder defeated Rachaphoumy and Brooks 6-1, while Rampp and Hall defeated Wright and Necessary 6-2. Russell Hitchcock and Parsley lost to Rachaphoumy and Brooks 6-3.
For the Lady Pioneers, Elisha Ray defeated Jessica McMullen 6-1, Brittany Williams fell to Julie Royal 6-4, Allison Maxwell lost to Vivian Conn 6-3, Katy Campen defeated Lisa Witten 6-4, Elizabeth Lavoie defeated Nichole Hamilton 6-2 and Catherine Hill defeated Elissa Jennings 6-1.
In doubles, Ray and Williams defeated Royal and Conn 7-6, Maxwell and Campen lost to McMullen and Witten 6-3 and Lavoie and Hill defeated Hamilton and Jennings 6-1.
