Celebration of Crafts being offered April 6
It’s the fourth annual Celebration of Crafts – a day-long festival featuring craft demonstrations and sales, live music and food. This year’s event will be held at the Craft Center from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 6, regardless of weather conditions.
Admission is free and the public is welcome.
A highlight of the celebration will be live music by the Cluster Pluckers, a bluegrass group with international acclaim and roots in Cookeville. Other featured performers will be the Moonlight Cellar Band and TTU’s West African drumming ensemble, Abusua.
Demonstrations of ceramics, glass blowing, weaving and textile arts, blacksmithing, jewelry making, woodturning and furniture making will be offered.
There will be door prizes at each studio, hands-on craft activities for children, a silent auction, craft sale, gallery sale with 10 percent off all items, food and more.
The event is sponsored by Friends of the Appalachian Center for Crafts of Tennessee and funded partly by the Tennessee Arts Commission.
“As a support organization, FACCT helped the Craft Center provide arts and crafts experiences for children throughout the upper Cumberland through matching grant programs available from the Tennessee Arts Commission,” said Jane Dudney, workshop and events coordinator.
