Health fair slated for March 23 at Morrison Ruritan building
Past successes of the Morrison Ruritan Health Fair have encouraged the organization to again schedule the annual event. A joint effort of Morrison Ruritan and NHC Homecare and Health Care Center will take place March 23 from 6 to 9 a.m. in Morrison.
Those interested in lab work made available by Harton Medical Center are instructed not to eat or drink after midnight the night before. These tests will include comprehensive metabolic profile, $13; lipid profile, $13; prostatic specific antigen for men only, $11; and checks blood count, $8.
Numerous services are available without charge. These include carotid bruits by Dr. Maudar; skin cancer checks by Dr. Woodlee; glaucoma screening by Dr. Dean; dental viewing by Dr. Todd Noblin; and neck and shoulder massage by Natural Advantage.
River Park Hospital will offer computerized fat analysis, diabetic screening, cardio vascular fitness; osteoporosis assessment; and stroke screening by the RPH Rehab Center. There will also be depression screening, blood pressure and oxygen saturation checks.
For those interested in a tasty morning meal, Morrison Ruritan Club will serve breakfast at a cost of $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12. In conjunction with the health fair, the American Red Cross will conduct a bloodmobile from 7 to 9 a.m.
