Girls’ 7&8 coach-pitch league action heats up
Tennessee Metal Fabricating headed into the weekend with a perfect record in the girls’ 7- and 8-year-old coach-pitch league, and picked up a pair of wins last week.
On Monday night, TMF held on despite allowing six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, topping U.S. Equipment 12-9.
Jessie Newby went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs, doubling twice in TMF’s winning cause. Taylor Knight was also 3-for-3, driving in two, while Maddi Taylor, Kelley Allphin, Brittany Porter, Keely Jacobs and Chelsey Chandler had two hits each.
Camerie Martin had three hits for U.S. Equipment, while Erica Cantrell belted a pair of home runs. Allie Golden had two hits, while Rylee Hilliard had a single and a homer.
TMF returned to the field on Tuesday night, dropping Castle Heights Day Care 19-12.
Taylor went 4-for-4, with a triple and four runs scored, while Jessie Newby, Porter, Brittany Myers and Victoria England also had four hits each. Chandler had a three-hit game, while Allphin, Jacobs and Lydia Wilson had two apiece.
Harley Davis went 3-for-3 for Castle Heights, while Hannah Hardcastle, KatieTubb, Sarah Owens, Mallory Foster and Maya Denning had two hits apiece.

Kirby Real Estate 19, Hoover and Son 0
Macayla Ferrelll, Trista Key and Lorren Cannon all went 4-for-4 for Kirby, while Stacey Arnold and Savannah Darnbush had three hits, including a home run, each. Isabel Kirby also had three hits, while Katelynn Cammack and Toni Bell had two apiece.
Justice Woodside had the only hit for Hoover and Son.
U.S. Equipment 22, Hoover and Son 11
Haley McColloch went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and six RBIs, homering to help lift U.S. Equipment to victory. The winning club also got three hits from Erica Cantrell, Rylee Hilliard, Allie Golden, Camerie Martin and Morgan Price, while Lindsay Skinner, Mila Lance, Marisa Stafford and Alyson Caten had two each.
Hoover and Son got two-hit games from Madison Todd, Sarah Knowles, Justice Woodside, Scarlet Rogers, Alana Ortiz, McKenzie Green and Kaylee Hillis.
