River Park offers over 50 program
The H2U kick off will be held Jan. 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Civic Center. It will feature health information and screenings for balance, blood pressure, vision, skin cancer screening and more.
“We are excited to introduce H2U to the community because everybody wants to lead a healthy lifestyle and enjoy their lives,” said Steve Otto, CEO at River Park Hospital. “We feel like we are definitely raising the bar for 50 plus health services. People will find that H2U’s outstanding benefits far outweigh the cost of the membership.”
An H2U membership costs $15 per person per year. Members receive a number of benefits, including monthly newsletters, a bimonthly magazine, access to interactive health tools online, and national discounts on products and services.
As part of H2U, River Park Hospital will also host a series of health and fitness programs for members. These will include additional screenings, lectures by physicians, fitness classes and travel opportunities.
H2U has researched the 50 plus health issues at a national level and identified five keys areas of focus: disease prevention, especially heart disease and cancer, healthy lifestyle, including diet and exercise, self-care, injury prevention, including fall prevention, and immunizations.
Using interactive tools on the h2u.com Web site, members can assess their relative risk in each of these areas. H2U’s “My Assessment” tool provides a detailed screening plan based on personal and family health history.
H2U is one of the first national health programs tailored specifically to the 50 plus demographic, which includes baby boomers. It is a membership organization tailored to the unique health needs of people 50 and over. H2U provides valuable health information, resources and experiences that empower members to manage their health and enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
Incorporated in 1982, H2U serves more than 200,000 members at some 100 hospitals and medical facilities across the United States. In addition to health and social programs at affiliated hospitals, H2U members receive monthly newsletters, a bimonthly health magazine and access to interactive health tools online.
