Lavonia May Parker, 88

Morrison resident and Warren County native Lavonia May Parker, 88, was born May 4, 1917 and died Feb. 25 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville following an extended illness.

A homemaker and a member of Pleasant Knoll Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Alean Cantrell Walker.

She was married to Alvin C. Parker of Morrison on Dec. 24, 1938. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon ?Chigger? and Dianne Parker, and Howard and Pat Parker, both of Morrison; five granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce Simmons of Morrison and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at High?s Chapel with Jerry Finney officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until time of service Monday at High?s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
