A new golf cart is a wonderful 50th wedding anniversary gift for Kathryn and James Phifer, celebrating Jan. 1.
James and Kathryn Phifer celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 1 at The Inn at Harvest Farms Lake. Approximately 115 guests attended the event organized by daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Joseph Schimenti.
The Phifers wed on Jan. 1, 1956 in Chickamauga, Ga. He is retired from DeZurik and enjoys golfing and yard work. Mrs. Phifer is retired from Carrier and enjoys volunteering with the hospital and coordinating trips. She also golfs and sings with the Barbersharps and the Caravan singers.
The highlight of the day was when their daughter and son-in-law surprised them with a new golf cart.
