John Louis Davidson, 89

McMinnville resident and Montgomery County native John Louis Davidson, 89, was born Sept. 17, 1918 and died Nov. 25 at River Park Hospital following a short illness.

A self-employed house painter, a United States Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Central Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Ervin Louis and Effie Rose Davidson. He was married Dec. 27, 1938 to Flora Haley Davidson, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by one daughter, Helen Rogers of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Grace Davidson of Manchester; two sisters, Rosia McDaniel and Ann Mitchell, both of Indiana; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Finis and Sonya Davidson of Michigan and William and Kathlene Davidson of Nashville; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Tuesday in High’s Chapel with Charles Williams and Tim Parish officiating. Burial followed at Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.

High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
